HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
The seeds of a premium pre-school were sown on 20th July 2000 by Dr. Ashok Patil, a Philanthropist and an Educationalist, when he established Little Flower School in the premises of Pravara Medical Trust, Loni. The School opened its doors with 34 students enrolled in Kindergarten in the classrooms of the Nursing college. In just two years, the enrollment doubled. In 2002, The State Education Board of
Maharashtra granted its recognition to the school and approved the growth of classes up to Std VIII. Since then it has been rising with the meteoric speed with each passing year.
Keeping the holistic development of the students and increasing enrollments in all the sections, a new school building was constructed. This new premise comprises huge classrooms, library, labs, music and art room, activity and play area. This magnificent new School building was inaugurated by Dr. Ushatai Tanpure, President, Rahuri Municipal Council on 31st July 2006.
On 11th September 2008, the School was handed over to the Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation Pune Trust.
Under the aegis of the trust and its policies, the School Management quickly introduced recruitment of only the best qualified teachers from around the district and began to receive recognition of its commitment to high standards from local and regional organizations.
On 16th March 2010, the School received its first affiliation to Central Board of Education, Delhi for three years. In 2013, the next Extension of Affiliation to the school was granted till 31 st March 2018, for the period of five years and consecutively the Extension of General affiliation is granted till 31st March 2021!
This has only proved the faith the Board has placed in the school’s dedication to imparting the highest quality of educational experiences and creating curious minds in the rural areas of the Ahmednagar district.
The number of students grew so rapidly that classrooms were not sufficient to accommodate the increasing number of students. Hence, in 2018, the school building saw its third phase of development and expansion to further accomodate even better well-equipped Science and Computer laboratories, indoor play area, multipurpose and assembly halls, thus further fulfilling all the norms of the CBSE
Board according to the new affiliation bye laws.
Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Little Flower School strongly believes in all round development of the students evident by their motto “Making Life Meaningful”. With the vision of being committed to the Pursuit of Excellence’, the School Management aims to preserve and enhance the highest standards of excellence and prepare generations for 21st century.
All the stakeholders of the school have always been following the vision of Padmashree Dr.Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil. In the successful journey, the institution has been careful and has been taking efforts to never undermine the highest standards set by its founders. During last twenty years, the School leaders have played a vital role in its development. Mrs. Shalini Pradahan, the pioneer Principal served the
institution till February 2007. After her, Mr. Umesh Gadre headed the school for two months, Mrs.Jasintha Parke was the Principal of the school, from December 2007 to 30th April 2010. Mr. Vivek Gite served from October 2010 to April 2013 and then Mr. Dnyaneshwar Arote headed the School till April 2014. Mr. Satish Patil carried out all the responsibilities of the Principal during the change over of the post and supported the institution. Mrs. Swati Kharde has been leading the school since April 2014.
Under the Chairmanship of Dr. Ashok Vikhe Patil, the School is known for the importance given to all walks of life. From academic to co-curricular, inter school level to international level several such opportunities are provided all through the year.
The major influence on the development of the school is the guidance and mentorship of Mrs. Nandini Vikhe Patil, who is the Director of Schools’ Programme and Joint Secretary of Vikhe Patil Foundation Pune. Her interest, enthusiasm, understanding, realism and vision are vital forces in shaping the school
into its present form.
We believe in quality education and an all round development of a child. Students are potential sources and here they are grown with optimum blend of Academics, Cultural Activities and Human Virtues.
The School has been beautifully designed & landscaped from utility and aesthetic point of view. It has spacious modern & well equipped classrooms, Computer Lab, Math Lab and Science Lab it has a rich library that touches a vast horizon by covering widest possible ranges of topics from picturepedia books are also availed. It has a large playground, Dining Room, Medical Room, Conference Hall and an
Auditorium will also be provided. A Science garden is also being planned which will be open to all students.
We assure quality education, all round development, modern and challenging courses keeping pace with contemporary approaches to learning and teaching development of communicative proficiency and competence and individualized attention. Overall student to faculty ratio is maintained.
Little Flower School conducts academic and co-curricular activities to encourage participation in multidimensional experience. Students are trained in Music, Dance, Art & Crafts. They will also be trained in Karate, Carom, Table Tennis, Cricket, Badminton and Basketball.
We believe every individual is an integral part of the cosmos, not a separate entity and yet he or she is truly unique.
