ADVENTURE CLUB REPORT
On 5th December 2015, the students of Adventure Club from class VI to X had been to Dudheshwar Hills at Nimgaonjali. It was an exciting and adventurous experience for the students. The journey started at 9:30 am and reached the footsteps of the hill at 10:00 a.m. All the students were divided into two groups which scaled the mountains overcoming the obstacles on the way under the guidance of the in charge teachers. It was really a very thrilling and exciting experience. The students loved climbing the mountain, help and support each other. They reached the temple situated on the top of the hill where the students had their lunch, viewed the natural beauty of the surroundings and descended the hill at around 12:30 pm. The students reached the school at 1:40 pm. with a marvelous experience that helped them develop their confidence and boldness.
ANNUAL SPORTS MEET:
To develop physical strength and competitive spirit of the students’ our school had organized Annual Sports Meet for the classes LKG to X on 16th Dec to 23rd Dec 2015. The inauguration commenced at 9.00 am with welcome song. The principal of the school, Miss Swati Kharde inaugurated the function by cutting ribbon on the ground. The students were divided into three sections as KG to III, IV to VI and VII to X. The sports events kicked off with 50m running race for K.G students. This was followed by 60m and 80m running race respectively for the classes I,II and III. The second event was conducted differently as per their age group like brick crossing, ball collecting, sack race etc.
100m running race organized for Std. IV gave immense pleasure to the student- audience on 2nd day of the Meet. The events like Hurdle race, kho-kho, dodge ball and handball were organized for the classes IV, V and VI respectively.
The 3rd day began with running race organized for Std. VI to X. This was followed by hurdle race and discus throw. The group events like handball and basketball were organized for the same classes. The Sports Meet for Parents on 19th Dec. was a day of great pleasure as a large number of parents participated enthusiastically in different events like running race, bursting balloon, three- legged- race, Hoop race etc.
On 21st Dec. students of Std. VII to X showed great energy through kho –kho football, kabbadi and relay race. They played with team spirit and tried to bag the points for their respective houses. Sapphire and emerald house scored more and bagged Cock House Trophy and Runner up Trophy respectively. The Prize Distribution Ceremony that took place on 23rd Dec. commenced with a welcome song and a mesmerizing musical presentation by the students of class X .The winners were honoured with medals and certificates by the chief guest, Brigadier Amit Kumar Gurg, the Campus Director of Vishveswaraya Engineering College, Sinnar of PRES and the Guest of Honour Mrs. Kunda Joshi, Career Counsellor, PRES.The Chief Guest inspired the gathering through his thought provoking speech and the Guest of Honour appreciated the efforts of the tiny tots in making the programme a grand success. The Principal Mrs. Swati Kharde expressed sincere thanks towards the dignitaries for their graceful presence and all those who contributed in making the function a grand success. Overall the sports meet was remarkable and enjoyable.
To inculcate social values and give an exposure to the students, the school had organised Fun Fare for our school students and parents on 19th Dec. 2015. The Maximum number of students had participated with great interest. The stalls were arranged house wise and decorated very beautifully between 9 am to10.30 am by the students of std. VII to X. The stalls of edible like Bhel, cake, egg, samosa, vada pav ,idli ,noodles, sweets and ,lemonade were arranged on the ground floor and games stalls on the first floor . Each house students tried to prove best by maintaining cleanliness and discipline in their respective blocks The surrounding of first floor was very cheerful and enjoyable because of funny and magical games. The entry fees for all the stalls was affordable so the students and parents could enjoy the food items as well as games. Students of std I to V visited the stalls between 11 am to 12 am. The stalls and students skills were examined and judged as per the criteria like cleanliness, coordination, social skill and communication by the winner parents who acted as judges. The students donated 25% amount of the profit earned. This was a remarkable and enjoyable day and a fine experience.
FIELD VISIT TO AURANGABAD
“It is better to see something than to hear about it a thousand times”. Every expedition made is an experience which leaves students pondering and implores them to think.
The students of class I and II of our school went on an educational trip to Aurangabad on 12 December 2015. It was life enriching experience for the students to visit the historical places like Bibi ka Maqubqra and Panchakki which are the living examples of our architectural tactics of our ancient kings.The tiny tots of LFS had the pleasure of enjoying the warmth of sun on a Siddharth Garden at Aurangabad. They had fun watching the roaring lions, white tigers leopards, bear, snakes, fishes, foxes and wolfves . They were thrilled to see the largest bird ostrich. Students learnt a couple of facts which really made the trip even more interesting. The excursion provided an enlightening opportunity to students enabling them to enhance their thinking and increase their knowledge.
It was a remarkable and fun filled experience for the kids as they came back with a smile on their faces.
FIELD VISIT TO PUNE
To encourage and prepare the students towards successful further study and lifelong contributions in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and History, the school had organized an educational trip to Science Park of Chinchwad and the temples on Parvati Hill in Pune on 24th Dec 2015 for the classes V to IX.
The park includes a section entitled “Dinosaur Park” and various educational galleries providing information about all the topics related to science. All the students were thrilled by visiting Dinosur Park . They had seen replicas of dinosaurs like the Plateosaurus, the Ankylosaurus, the Stegosaurus, the Tyrannosaurus, the Archaeopteryx, the Velociraptor, the Psittacosaurus and others. NCSM has prepared these exhibits. Then students had observed near about 42 models which helped them to understand the working of pulleys, periscopes, microphone and other such technologies. All these were the part of “Temporary Exhibition Gallery”.The visit to the“ 3D Auditorium” also helped the students gain knowledge about astronomy, planets, stars etc.
Pimpri Chinchwad is the city of automobiles so there is a special gallery with 87 exhibits. Students visited the “Automobile gallery” and procured the information about the invention of the wheel, the steam engine, motor cycles and cars. They learnt how the various components of an automobile like the engine, the gear box, wheels and other parts work by actually operating them. All the students visited the “Energy gallery” which has 32 exhibits explaining all forms of energy like solar, potential, kinetic, sound, mechanical and others. One can operate these exhibits to learn how energy transforms into different forms. At last students enjoyed seeing ‘Fun gallery’ which consists of 62 exhibits . They learnt various concepts of science through small games by operating the exhibits.
After seeing the Science Park the students moved to the historical place “Parvati” situated in the southern end of the city. It has 108 steps to climb the top of the hill to get the magnificent view of the city. Students visited the famous four temples named Shiva, Ganesh, Vishnu and Kartikeya respectively situated on the top of the hill. It is one of the oldest heritage structures of Pune and reminiscent of the Peshwa dynasty. It is situated at a height of 2100 feet above the sea level. Being the highest point in Pune, it provided them a beautiful panoramic view of the Pune city.. There the students visited an interesting museum that commemorates the Peshwa rule. The students were amazed to see the paintings, weapons, jewellery, pots, clothes, the coins and the foreign currencies of the period. The trip was really knowledgeable and enjoyable for the students.
